There has been a lot of problems lately with pushy pro choice people( not to say there isn’t pro life people like that, I just haven’t seen them).I think either you can’t rate or comment on a pattern until 48 hours after it was added, or you have to ban all controversial patterns. There has just been to many problems lately and while just banning all pro life patterns could solve that, that’s not fair to let certain pro choice people bully them off the site. So I think if pro life patterns are banned, pro choice patterns should be banned too. Several of us have tried to raise awareness on respecting others opinions, while it has worked some, I think it hasn’t worked enough for us to leave things as they are. These are just my suggestions to make this site more friendlier and less arguing over politics. |

I just wish that people could respect each other’s opinions it makes me kinda sad that people can’t just scroll past a pattern. At least leave a comment that’s not super rude. If you are going to do it on prolife patterns then don’t get mad when they say stuff like that on pro choice patterns and prolife people should not say that on prochoice patterns if they don’t want it to happen on theirs. Like a lot of people say “pro choice” or others say “pro life” on patterns or “I’m prochoice/prolife but I respect your opinion”

i feel like it wouldn't be fair to ban all controversial patterns because there are many patterns that could be seen as controversial. i think an alternative could be that you could turn the comments off or turn ratings off if it is getting lots of hate.

@danielle_3 I wish they wouldn’t have to, but I don’t see a way around it. It’s specifically pro life and pro choice patterns I think they have to ban. When I go to comments I want to read about how the pattern turned out for people, not 5 dozen peoples’ different opinions. |

i do understand what you mean by that then. i've seen tons of cute patterns that are controversial and i went to the comments and its mostly just hate which is really sad.

I don't think the suggestion where you can only rate a pattern after 48 hours is very fair1. A lot of new patterns don't get seen immediately. And the whole rating system is so all users can give input on patterns. 2. Ratings give motivation to people who are just starting to make patterns. When I made my first pattern, most of the feedback came in after a day or two and that's what motivated me to continue making patterns. Beginner users maybe wouldn't get that input. 3. Most comments/ratings are good ones. Again, MOST of them are(good ratings) 4. Comments are usually ways to express in words how much they like the pattern, or if the creator could improve on this. Of course you could message the creator, but many people aren't allowed to message others (younger users) or even older users because of rules. 5. A lot of users want to give positive feedback to patterns they like. However if it's after 48 hours they wouldn't be able to. 6. Many amazing patterns gain popularity because of ratings/loves on bb. And people also have different perceptions of what is controversial or not. Otherwise good suggestion 🙂 |

I think a better option would be permanently disabling ratings or comments for pro life or pro choice patterns or other patterns which are generally seen as controversial. I think Braceletbook should be a happy friendly bracelet making community, not some place where we drag on arguments about controversial patterns.

@PugCakePop I agree there are a lot of issues with my idea, I just don’t know what else to do anymore. I really think they just need to be banned. The issue is it probably will be more difficult to disable comments and ratings on only certain patterns.

Maybe instead of them getting banned we could create a way to block designs that you don't like. If we get that implemented, and people are being rude, then they can be banned themselves because if they have a problem with the pattern they could say "I don't want to see anything related to this" for a tag or a design and it just wont pop up anymore. I really don't like how people be hateful in the comments, just because you disagree doesn't make your opinion right and doesn't give you any rights at all to be hateful or rude. If you want to share your opinion then stick to your own pattern, don't go on others and cause chaos. If we had the option to block certain tags, or click on a design and say "i don't want to see this" then it would be a lot easier for people to use the site and not be tempted to comment a bunch of hateful things. Honestly people just want to start fights. There's a difference between having an open debate and just getting petty and commenting hateful things towards other people. |

@Deer-Teeth Exactly, cause otherwise they would actually do something that what help their opinion( like peacefully protest), not comment on a bracelet site for Pete’s sake

I forgot to add, if you really want to argue then do not do it on a bracelet site that is supposed to be a nice child-friendly place for people to chat so don’t ruin it. You should do it on like Instagram or Twitter or something. I know I’m not really saying anything about your suggestions lol I just wish people would be respectful 😐😂

The problem I see with only blocking tags is that people who want to spread hate on either side of the controversial argument aren't going to block those tags. They will continue to leave negative ratings and comments because, regardless of which side of the situation it is, there will be people expressing anger toward opinions that differ from theirs.

that's all subjective, me as a pro-choice supporter view pro-life supporters as pushy, I think it would be the best to remove both pro-choice and pro-life patterns. There are too much of them anyway.

@fcb_neymar Yeah, I think there is enough of them for people to make if in the future they weren’t accepted.
