"Gender" Info in profile page is discriminatory

I've noticed that the "gender" info on the profile page only has three options, Female, Male, and Undefined. I think this is highly discriminatory to many people because we don't all identify under those terms. Maybe consider making this part of the profile page open-ended so people can put how they identify and are not confined to those three terms.

This has been asked before and i think the reason why it has stayed like this is that there are little kids or people who don't know what the terms like "non-binary" mean which has prevented the admin to adding this to the site. Im not entirely sure but I'm pretty sure this is why.

thank you for bringing up this topic, you definitely make a good point! the moderator team has been having some discussion about this topic as well, and we are brainstorming some ideas for different solutions to change this part of the profile pages.

@knottahti That's great, you could have it open-ended the same way the "country" section is. Or you could add more options or just remove it altogether. Thank you!

that is a good idea! maybe message some moderators or admin and see if they are able to do that. i think for now the only way to fix it is to not put a gender option and you could put it in your bio instead. it would also be easier if you could type into the box instead because then people can put whatever they would like to be identified as.

hi! thank you for bringing this up! i sent your idea to the mod chat. admin wrote back saying that adding more options under gender/having an open-ended “other” option is on his todo list! so hopefully more options on the gender section of the profile page will be implemented soon 😊
