Length of strings!!

I can’t be the only one who always runs out of string. I know how to replace it and everything, but I think it would be very useful if BB added a feature where it would automatically generate how long your strings need to be based off of how thick the bracelet is and long the pattern should be. For example: “the third string should be about 3 feet long for ever 6 inches you make” or something like that.

But there’s like a number of other factors. How tight you make the knot or how often that specific string is used. I have no idea how you would even code it to do that either. Maybe what would be cool is to have the poster of the pattern be able to have like a little notes section where they could give a little more information for people.

That sounds cool, but I think it would be complicated because stuff like the type of string or how tight you make your knots could effect it. My advice is make the strings about as wide as your wingspan!

This is a great idea. I just added a topic called "Descriptions for Patterns." If my idea is considered, the pattern creator could write in the description the recommended length of strings and if some need to be longer than others.

always look at the knots on the pattern to see how frequently theyre are seen. The more knots the longer your string should be. also if you have two strings of the same colour I usually use the longer string to make the knot since it doesn't matter what knot is being used. hope that helps 🙂
