I just bought a “ball” of dmc perle cotton size 8 thread but it ended up being to thin to mix with regular string in a bracelet but I wonder if it’s to thin to use for base strings?

@crp15 you can use any size for base strings! It doesn't matter whether they're too thin or thick, it just matters that all of the base strings are the same size. You won't actually see them while you're knotting! 😄

Size 8 is fine, but it is kind of thin. I like to use size 5, it is better in my opinion. 😄

I think that works! I use a crochet thread that I bought that was too big and it works fine! As long as it isn’t like thread size or yarn size aka way to big or way to small. 🙂

for base strings size doesn’t really matter as long as they’re all the same size!

I heard that size 5 works well! But I’ve never tried it!
