You can watch masha knots’s segment knotting tutorial. You can try simple patterns like distorted chevron, half and half chevron and the heart bracelet. Hope this helps

@calamri33 I don't quite understand what you mean by 'weird' but here are some tips that might help. 1) try to tie you knots tighter 2) when you pull the knots up ensure they don't switch colors 3) double-check along the way to see if your pattern is matching.

Make sure you tie the first half of the knot tightly, because that’s what determines the placement of the knot. Tying the first half loosely but the second half tightly will still result in holes. Also, make try to make sure your knotting tension is consistent. But as you make more and more bracelets, they’ll start to look better and better

don't worry! i made very clean knots with chevrons & diamond patterns i made from youtube tutorials,, but when i got to patterns they looked a bit messy: i actually posted a forum question two months ago with this same problem! as others have said, try segment knotting if you're comfortable. you can find a pattern you're familiar with and segment knot! if not (no pun intended) thats totally fine!! it just takes practice, trust me!!
