So I was making a alpha and one of the strings that I was knitting just snapped. What should I do?!

was it your base string or your leading string? either way it can be fixed. if it was your leading string, you’d do it the same way as if you were changing colors. put what’s left of the snapped string behind the bracelet and tape a new string of the same color onto your workspace behind the bracelet. then simply knot the new string onto the next base string. if it was a base string you snapped you’d do the same thing except i would recommend taping the snapped base string and the new base string to the back of the bracelet. then you simply knot with your leading string over the new base string. hope that helps! 🙂

Make sure you are not knotting super tight! Maybe loosen your knot tension or you can buy stronger thread!

I know you weren’t asking me, but I recommend DMC and Loops & Threads. Also, if it was a base string that snapped, make sure you keep in taped down until you’ve knotted at least ten rows onto it. Because you don’t make any knots with bass strings, it’s a lot easier for replaced base strings to slip out than replaced leading strings

Since it’s an alpha, it should be pretty easy to just re-add it! However I’m not sure what to do if it’s a base string

@quartzx2 Masha Knots has a YouTube playlist of beginner bracelets, and any of those would be a good one

@quartzx12 i would recommend the braided stitch (#117), a simple diamond bracelet (#2167) or the arrowhead (#18). all three of these bracelets are super beginner friendly and they all have tutorials attached to them. the diamond and arrowhead bracelet both have forward-backward and backward-forward knots so if you feel comfortable with both forward and backward knots and i especially recommend either of those two. hope that helps! 🙂

If it was a base string, try attaching it back in from the back and if it was just a leading string then reattach it like you would another color

There is the bee pattern as well. I have i think a beginner bracelet pattern. If you don't mind pokemon, then you could do this pattern #29097. I had that problem along with my strings(mostly with craft thread), so I dont use DMC cotton pearl. I just use the generic dmc thread
