Ok, first of all I feel a bit silly writing a post on the "newbies" thread as my rank is profesional... But when I craft,y back gets really sore because I have to bend over for so long. This even happens when I try to sit up straight. I usually do a back-bend into bridge or something else gymnasticy to bend it the other way but it doesn't really help. I was just wandering if anyone else has this problem and where I can make bracelets to prevent this, I have tries sitting at a desk, but my clipboard is too long and I have to reach to far forward and can't really see what I'm doing as I'm quite small an I really don't know any other places I could sit to prevent it. I usually make my bracelets while on the couch, my bed or a beanbag the beanbag is the best for me but it still isn't GREAT...

I use one of those pillows with the arm thingies.....idk what it's called. And I sit on my bed. Try to keep your shoulders back because that also helps or take a quick break (good time to get a snack!)

I get this problem too, the only thing I've really ever found that works is taking a break :/ But also I find using a new pillow sometimes helps, because it keeps you from tilting your head too far forward, making your spine bend less, but even then sometimes it doesn't do much.

I mean, if you want to get real technical, back strengthening exercises would help with it but I don't know how many people would want to get crazy into back strengthening exercises just to make bracelets.

@Margaron yeah I actually do back strengthening exercises in gymnastics and I also do yoga and I guess that's kinda strengthening? It doesn't really help...

This has happened to me too, but to avoid it, I like to sit somewhere, with my back against something, and put my knees up and "plant" my clipboard on my stomach (if that made any sense). I like to keep my clipboard at an angle so I'm not bending over. Too bad I can't post a pic to a forum, then this would be a lot easier to explain 🙂

I've found that my back hurts less when I tape it to my leg and work sitting on the floor 🙂

I find I can work for hours now and not get sore. But I lifted weights for a while. Do lots of ab and back exercises and try not to hunch but keep you're back straight. I have to be working on bracelets basically all day before my back gets sore

@TFK19 yeah, thanks but I just can't do it with tape, I need to use my clipboard! My bracelets go all bent and uneven and horrible when I tape it 🙁

I get back pains when I work too. Once my back starts hurting I bend back to stretch it out. If that doesn't work I have someone pop it for me. It usually does the truck.

If anything, you could always take a break when your back starts hurting(:

I duck taped my clipboard to my desk so I can sit on a chair and that usually helps

And I also take a break every half an hour or so to stretch my legs

I take breaks, but my back doesn't hurt, my leg or knee does. Just change positions whenever your back starts to hurt.

I sit on the couch with my feet up and a lumpy pillow in my lap (one that I can beat into a good position), with a clipboard turned sideways on top of that. I tape or clip whatever project I'm working on to the board and adjust the pillow however I need it so I don't hunch over my work.
