You can only create patterns on the website, not the app. Just hover over where your profile name is at the top, on the drop down menu choose the option 'Create Patterns', and from there you can choose whether to create an Alpha or Normal pattern. |

If you're on website, hover your mouse over your profile and it'll have a place to add patterns. Press that, then pick if you want to make an alpha or a normal pattern
