Just make sure it is easy to segment knot and doesn’t have too many strings so that you don’t get confused and mess up and have to spend time untying.

i always recommend a bordered chevron to begginers that want to do patterns bc it teaches you all the knots. if you want to challenge your self you can go to kinsey bs youtube channel and look through her beginner playlist. if you have anymore questions you can message me. hope this helped!
