Hi there!I've seen a bunch of super cool alphas that people have done as wall hangings, and I totally want to try one! 🙈 I'm just confused as to how people attach/layout the base strings. Do you knot them onto the dowl? |

Hi, people usually use the larks head knot. It’s also called a cow hitch. If you google the larks head knot it’ll step by step teach you how. It’s super simple, I’m sure you’ll know how to do it when you look at the step by step pictures.

I have made a mini 26 string one and did larks head knots into a toothpick, although any more than 26 strings I would probably recommend a dowel rather than a toothpick.

i like to use a wooden dowl and then also use a stick from outside and just cut it to the length that i want it to be. for attaching the sting you use the larkshead knot which is super simple to use.

it looks like people are already explaining how to start it, so i would reccomend using wooden dowel rods (i got mine from amazon). also i have some good wall hanging patterns that aren't from braceletbook so if you dm me on my insta (estellajw.bracelets) i can give them to u if u want 🙂

it’s called a cow hitch and there rly simple to learn. you just need to have a even number of base strings. if you do then you make longer base strings and fold them in half. then (i usually do it differently) you take the loop and put it under the dowel or tooth pick and then pull the strings through the loop if it makes any sense. if knot masha’s basic knots tutorial has that or alex’s chevron keychain tutorial. hope this helped ❤️
