depends on how thick the bracelet is. normally i cut mine around arm's length for a medium sized bracelet, but if you're not sure always overestimate. it's better to have leftover string than to have to tie more string on!

if you plan to fold ur strings in half, i do wingspan unless i see in the pattern that one color will be used more
