Hi! I've been making alphas for quite a while now, and I've recently started using the straight edge technique. Now I've heard something about a flat alpha technique. What is that? When i search on youtube the tutorials that come up are just for normal alphas. Does anyone have a tutorial, or did i misunderstand something?

The flat alpha technique is were you put the previous working string through the knot of the new working string. It works like this: Let’s say that you have blue and red strings. You make all the knots that you need to make with the blue string that you need. Put the blue string up and out of the way. Take your red string and put it under all your base strings and the blue string. Make the first part of you knot with the red string. Take your blue string and put it over the base string that you just knotted on. Make the second part of your knot with the red string. You can pull the blue string a little bit to make your knot tighter. I hope you understand these instructions. I tried to put it in words but if you need better explanation Masha Knots and Alex’s Innovations both have good tutorials on how to do the technique. 😊 😄 |

I really recommend the flat alpha technique ! It completely changed my bracelets for being puffy to completely flat! Masha knots has a tutorial on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YVFAX9sacw Or... if your doing a forward or backward knot (same for both) do half of it. Then put the previous leading string on top of the string your doing the knot on, then do the other half of either the forward or backward knot. Hope this helps! 😊 |
