If you have a really good understanding on the basic knots and are at a really good level with normal patterns I’d say go for it! I’m not the best at alphas but that’s what I had to understand before I was able to attempt an alpha. If your still a little iffy on how you feel about alphas I’d recommend watching a beginner alpha tutorial to get to know the basics of making an alpha (I watched masha knots video). good luck!! I hoped this helped.

I also recommend making rag rug bracelets! They’re a great way to use up spare thread and they give you a feel of how starting and ending patterns, and keeping rows straight is like, similar to alphas!

I’d say one you’re very comfortable with the basic knots and with making normal patterns in general, you’re probably ready to start making alphas. If you think you’re at that point now, I recommend watching Masha Knots’ video called “flat alpha bracelets - beginner tutorial”
