When you are on an alpha's page somewhere below the pattern has two little colorful squares. The one says "how to make normal patterns" and the other says "how to make alpha patterns". These are two very useful videos by Masha Knots (here @Racoon). Hope this helps and makes sense 😁

Each dot in an alpha pattern is one knot. You start in the bottom left corner and maker forward knots for the first row is a knot is a different color you do a color switch. When you are done that row the next row is backward knots. You go to the second row horizontally on the left and do backward knots as I said making the color switches when you need to. Then it repeats you go on to the right and make a row of forwards knots.
