Hello guys, I'm new at knotting bracelets and I've been practicing everyday for the past few weeks but I can't seem to understand if there is another way to make bracelet sides even without additional strings?

if you don’t want to use the straight edges technique, work on being consistent with the tightness on each knot. this may just come with time and practice. however, some patterns might turn out wonky anyway. if the pattern allows the straight edges technique, i would recommend it

It could also be affected by the way you secure your bracelet. I know my edges tend to be less straight when I use a safety pin than when I use a clipboard, so you can try different way of securing your bracelet (safety pin, clipboard, binder clip, tape, etc) and see if they help

@madeleine_ I use book with hard cover and binder clip plus add tape throughout knotting so I think it's not about it but rather how I sit and do my knots in different positions haha hope that doesn't sound weird.

A way to make straight edges is using the straight edge technique, and also being careful of your tension in your bracelet -- especially on the edges! 👍
