It means how many rewards they have and you get them by winning challenges

the number represents how many rewards you get from doing official weekly and monthly challenges and from reporting duplicate patterns. for example i currently have a 7 next to my profile pic because i have participated in 7 official weekly/monthly challenges. 🙂
