Hello! Just wanted to ask on what do you guys usually do when you have to switch to another color at the very last end of the row? Like for example yellow-yellow-and then brown. Clearly the flat alpha technique wouldnt work coz the previous thread will stick out. So what I do is just don’t include the previous thread and simply knot the new color. However, I find it a bit uneven or wonky when I do that. Just rlly wanna know if there are other ways hehe i hope my question isnt confusing though 😅 thank you!!

As mentioned in some tutorials of flat alpha patterns, it is very difficult to do this switch towards the end. If you do the pattern will have rogue strings hanging and that is not what we want for a pattern. For some knots towards the sides of the patterns you will need to refer to the normal way to make alphas. It is a little inconvenient and does make it hard to remember this. I fully understand how this can be a problem for some patterns, and I did a pattern where every side couldn't use the flat alpha technique. Usually there will be no problem with my projects that have this. Even if there is a difference in the knots, I think just some tiema nd practice will help improve your projects. I hope this wan't too confusing and helps solve your problem. If you need any other help, please feel free to message me. (If you do respond on this forum thread please put my name in it. Have you tried doing it the way Masha Knots explains in her flat alpha video at around 18:20?
