Hi! I am a moderately good at alphas so I thought I could take a shot at putting one on a keyloop. The thing is, I don't know how. Could anyone help me with putting the string on? I know I can do the rest I just am confused on how to start.

@physicscat you basically just loop your base strings onto the keyring using a larks head knot. To do that knot, you take one of your base strings, fold it in half so that it forms a loop. Then, put the doubled string under the keyring. Pull the ends of the string through the loop at the top and adjust it as needed. Do that with all of your base strings, and then start knotting like you would normally.

@physicscat sorry if that was confusing. If you need a more in depth explanation, check out Masha Knots’ video called Basic Knots.

@physicscat you can also check out her How to Make Keyrings tutorial and speed ahead to 2:10, which is where she demonstrates how to make it.

you can also make a double sided keychain by choosing 2 different patterns with the same number of base strings or 2 of the same pattern. you then do the first pattern, but you rotate the pattern upside down, so instead of going from the first row to the last row, you go from the last row to the first row. that is so that the pattern will be right side up when it is seen on the keychain. once you have finished the first pattern, leave a couple base strings to the side and slide your key ring through the remaining middle base strings. knot your leading string as usual across the base strings to secure the key ring in. then complete the other pattern. masha knots has a youtube video on how to make alphas into key chains that you should check out. i hope that helps! 🙂

I watched Masha Knots’ video and was able to get it pretty quick. Her videos are good

hello! I make alpha keyrings all the time! I use a larks head knot at the beginning of the keychain to attach all the threads! Masha has a tutorial on how to do that knot called "basic knots tutorial" and a tutorial on keyrings, hope this helped! 👍 🎉

Knot it on or just put it through and use both ends as two different strings and just knot the bracelet

You can make a loop like you would do for bracelets and just start knotting and follow the pattern.
