Well I'm not sure what patterns you could do, maybe something simple and ones that look good vertically (some patterns are more designed to be horizontal and these probably won't look as good hanging off a water bottle). To attach them to the water bottle, you could to a loop, just by folding over and doing a knot, a teardrop or basic loop might not be as flexible. It also depends on the thickness of the handle, but I think just doing a plain loop will be fine. Hope this helps

I usually do a simple pattern such as a chevron or dovetail (I used to use a water bottle too, but I've found that a clipboard often makes it easier to do alphas and my bracelets usually turn out better).

A simple bracelet like a chevron or diamond, but thick would look cool. Also it helps if you have a color theme, especially one that matches your water bottle. Maybe like all cool colors or all pastels or something. Whatever works. A wave bracelet as well might look nice. Or a scattered stripe. Maybe a heart?

it usually depend on the color of your hydroflask and theme, I have a white one with stickers i personally have a candy stripe, a arrowhead, and a alpha that just has the state name im from. So basically my hydrofloask is a mess, so it really just depends on you just make sure the pattern fits on your hydroflask 😂. hopefully this helps. Have an amazing day. 👍
