Hi ! Has you may have seen in the title, I'm french I've recently started to do bracelet with this site. I've already done one (#16603) and when I read the dimensions of the strings I was a little lost, cause I don't know what 5x6 stand for (why is there a multiplication ? Where is the unit of measurement ???). I did the bracelet just fine by multiplying the two numbers, which gave me length of the strings in inches, that I then converted in centimeters. But my problem is that now, when I want to do another bracelet using the same way, I end up with astronomical numbers (6 meters for 16 strings #44483).
Can someone please explain me how to read the dimensions ? I'm really lost right now 😭. Thank you in advance.

That is the knot structure it is five knots by six knots in that pattern the x stands for by 5 is the number of knots per row and 6 is the number of rows when I measure strung I just do fingertips to the opposite shoulder and double that if I need two of that color and add more if there is more knots of one color rather than another

hey!! so when it says 5x6 it means that there is 5 strings (that’s the first number) and then the 6 means that there is 6 rows in the pattern. once you finish these rows, you start the same rows over again at the beginning. there is no multiplication involved 😉 usually you can measure string by doing the length of one of your arms, and then stop knotting when the bracelet is almost long enough to tie around your wrist. i hope this helped! let me

5x6, or "five by six", means the pattern is 5 knots wide and 6 knots long (the number rows per one repetition of the pattern). The final size of the bracelet will depend on how many repetitions you will do. If you do 6 repetitions, your bracelet will end up 5 knots wide (because this doesn't change) and 36 rows long.

Thank you so much for your answers, I had no idea it was all about the number of strings and rows 😄. You really helped me out !
