I'm not a newbie, but this is a newbie question.. does cotton pearl mix well with embroidery floss? I've only ever used embroidery floss, so idk. Thanks!

I use it and I like it. The cotton pearl stuff stays together better and personally I find that it makes better knots/bracelets, but that is just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure cotton pearl is thinner than embroidery floss.

I use size 5 cotton pearl often and it works very well. It produces slightly thinner knots and is not as smooth in alphas as embroidery thread is, but it's cheaper and has a really nice sheen. It can be found in a variety of colours just like embroidery thread. Size 8 is too thin in my opinion, about half as thin as embroidery thread, but it can be used if you double up the thread and it works brilliantly. Size 3 is a little too thick to combine with embroidery thread but if you make an entire bracelet from size 3 it works well. The finished bracelet is just a little bulkier than usual. I'd recommend it! |

i like cotton pearl because it stays together better, where normal string often splits, but it can sometimes break off when i tie knots, which can be annoying

I use them together and while you might be able to see a bit of a difference, it works out fine.Hope this helps! |
