Ok. So, I’m good with alphas, I understand them, and I can read the patterns. I can also do chevrons and candy stripe and braided stitch (#117) but that’s bc of videos. Idk how to read normal patterns and progress from what I have. Any help? Like how to read the patterns.

@Racoon or Masha Knots have a great tutorial on them. So does Katrinaosity and others. All you need to know is the basic knots (forward, backward, backward forward, forward backward) it might seem intimidation to learn, but once you get a hang of it, it opens a whole new door of bracelets!

i would suggest following pattern tutorials by masha knots, alex’s innovations, kinsey b etc. by following their pattern tutorials, you will not only get a feel for how to read patterns, you will also get a feel for segment knotting. based on where you are right now, i would suggest learning the arrowhead (@18). masha knots has a youtube tutorial on it, it’s very simple, and it will teach you fb and bf knots. i hope that helps! 🙂

As for the pattern reading itself, I find it easiest to scroll to that I have row 1 at the very top or bottom of my screen, then I do that row and move it either up or down (it it is at the top scroll down 1 and vice versa) then do row 2 and so forth. You dont have to read it left to right but it can make it easier to read it in one direction everytime. You already know all of this but here a reminder: keep your knots tight, especially on the edges, make sure everything is secured well, and it helps to move strings that yoh have already knotted for the row you are on away from the bracelet, it just helps keep your organized and reduced mistakes. I hope this helped a little, please feel free to ask me any other questions or anything! - Meghan_J24

I'm not a beginner, but I still have a problem with some of my bracelets, they will sometimes just randomly curl up, I thought running the bracelet through my hair straightner would help bt it really didn't.
PLEASE HELP 😤

@Emalee Some “unbalanced” patterns, like the candy stripe, will always curl up just because of the nature of the pattern
