Hi, I am going to be doing pattern #41288, I’m a bit confused between normal and alpha patterns, this is normal is that right? Also, do I do backward/forward & forward backward knots on the ends of each row to keep the sides straight. Sorry, I made a few bracelets a few years ago but have totally forgotten everything so am starting from scratch as a complete beginner. Just thought , another question, can I curve the ends rather than do a triangle?

Yes that is a normal! And you are correct with the straight edges. I think you could curl the edges! That’s a good idea.
