I normally use embroidery floss but I want to use yarn that can be interchanged with embroidery floss. I am wondering the weight or specific brand to use.

It doesn’t really matter what brand you use. I use a ball of thin white yarn for whenever I need to make something with white. I don’t really know the weight, but I would go for the same thickness or a little bigger is fine

a good material for beginers is craft cord because it is more likely not to break and it dose not separate a lot like embroidery floss i hoped this helped

I use pearl cotton interchangeably with my embroidery floss, and I also use fingering weight yarn if a slight difference in size won't matter too much.

With what @izzygirl said, craft cord is nice, but you can’t use it with embroidery floss because they both have different textures. In my experience, I use any and all types of embroidery floss but you have to be careful with the thicknesses of the floss because some create bigger knots than others

i use embroidery floss as i find it very soft and easy to work with and for me the strings don’t snap as often as some other threads such as prism 😊
