How long should I cut my base strings for alphas?

Hi! I am about to start an alpha but I'm worried I will cut the base strings too short again. Around how long should I cut each one?

So you can cut the base strings in really any length let’s say your pattern has 29 rows then you cut it shorter than usual leaving some string for twisted ties .I can help better if you let me know how many rows the pattern has and if you are going to do shaped start

I generally cut my base strings quite long so that I have space for ties shaped start and stuff I suggest you cut them about half a wingspans length or so it ,Igbo seem like a lot but you can do a lot of stuff with that length . |

this really depends if you want ties or not, you can cut the ties as long as you want i do mine ( 10cm-15cm) i generally make my string 30cm and my ties 10/15 cm but it depends on how long you want it

base strings really only need to be as long as the bracelet will end up being but it would be a good idea to save yourself a good chunk for wiggle room as well as room for ties if you want to do those!

I cut 20 inches 6 for each twist tie end Leaves room for 7-8 inches of the actual pattern |

The bass strings should be as long as you want the bracelet itself to be, plus the combined length of the ties

@stephaniex I would cut them quite long as you would need to leave room for ties so that’s about 10cm already them the actual bracelet would be around 14-15 c

For alphas you don’t knot with the base string so for a bracelet cut it the length of your wrist with extra for ties. I do about 15-20cm for one tie which is kinda a lot but I dont wanna run out 😂
