How do you do triangle ends/ teardrop loops on an alpha?

basically, you do the same thing as you would on the top. you split the bottom strings in two and then take the middle two and tie them together then the two outside of that and knot them to the middle and put them together, just like a chevron. hopefully that makes sense🙂

You can do teardrop loops or triangle ends the same way you'd do them for normal patterns. You'd just use the basestrings for that. https://youtu.be/05sDSDDr5rM https://youtu.be/dPcpD-i2D0U But you can also do triangle ends in a different way. You divide your basestrings into two even groups and make a forward knot with your leading string on each group. If the amount of base strings is uneven you make three groups. The middle group in that case only consists of one string. The amount of strings in the other groups is evenly distributed. As the next step you take one string from the left group and one from the right group so that you now have four or five groups and make a backwards knot onto each of them. You continue so row by row. For making the end the process would be the other way around. Here is MashaKnots video. https://youtu.be/YsCCgZZvziQ I'm not sure how and if teardrop loops would be possible but you can make double triangle ends with a loop using the alpha technique. For that you keep the other end of the leading string a bit longer and use it to knot the second triangle. |
