To create a normal pattern you have to be on the website. If you're on your phone you need to click on your username on the upper right, if you're on your computer you need to hover over it. A menu will fold down and you need to click "create patterns" in it and then you click "new pattern" in the normal pattern section.

There's a tutorial on how to design normal patterns using graph paper. I recommend doing that first before writing the pattern into the creator.

Here's the link to the tutorial https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/34_designing-normal-patterns/

Once you've done that you can write the pattern in the normal pattern creator. First you need to pick the colours. Each colour gets assigned a letter and you have to put these letters in the colors order box in the order you want.

Then you write the knots divided by commas row by row. The amount of rows needs to be even. In a pattern with an even amount of strings the uneven rows have half that amount of knots and the even ones half minus one. In patterns with an uneven amount of strings the amount of knots is always the amount of strings minus one divided by two.

Regularly click "save and test" to see what your pattern looks like. There might appear warnings at the top of the creator that you need to fix before submitting the pattern. Before you submit the pattern you have to add at least four keywords that describe the pattern and you also need to tick the box at the bottom.

Once you submitted the pattern it will disappear. But don't worry, once a moderator has reviewed it it will appear again. If it gets accepted it will be uploaded to the website for everyone to see. If it gets declined it will be back in the pattern creator and there'll be a message on top of it why it was declined. You now have the chance to edit the pattern and resubmit it.

If you have any questions or didn't understand something please feel free to ask!

@cookie_cat I look at other people's bracelets or sketch on graph paper for inspiration. I don't always know where the ideas come from. I think after designing patterns for a while your brain just becomes wired to bracelets 😉

Click on create pattern, normal pattern then you should change around the knots so usually you do half the amount ohms knots as strings, then follow the advice given at the top so your pattern is not rejected!
