@ananya_ as you knot more and more your fingers will get used to the motions and there won’t be as much pain. i have a natural indent in my finger now where i pull my string. in the beginning it’s a little painful, even days where i knot more than normal, i feel it, but it gets better i promise!

I also have an ident on my finger. Your skin will toughen up in that area since there is constant damage to it. It can be painful, but it’s always worth it right? 😂

I don't tie my knots as tight anymore, which has definitely helped. Moisturizing the cut part of your finger will help heal your finger

I had the same issue as you for a while. after a while I ended up getting calluses where the string would cut into my skin. it's kind of gross, but I don't get any more cuts lol

Oh this is totally normal! On days when I do a lot of knotting, my index finger gets really dry and almost kinda burns on the top knuckle where I rest my string and pull it. If you do it a lot, you will get used to it and it won't hurt as bad. If it's really bad, try pulling your knots less tight. Good luck 🙂

@kurthcarre Go to “forum” (it’s in the side menu on the app and it’s on the top on the website) and then scroll to the bottom and you’ll see “challenges”

I completely understand the struggle. ^_^ Especially when working with material such as yarn, which has more texture, it can rub against and irritate the skin on your finger. I suggest that you either try knotting with a different finger (for example, if you primarily use your index finger, give it a rest and use another instead), or try knotting in a different way/style that doesn't involve as much friction against your finger until the skin heals.
