i made #36704 for my first alpha but all the “added” strings for the flower that weren’t the background color turned out puffy. does anyone have tips on how to make this not happen again?

what I do is after the first part of the knot I pass the background color through the knot and finish the knot and that usually helps. I'm not sure if that makes sense but Masha Knots has a video with a better explanation I believe its called "five alpha bracelet hacks". hope this helps 🙂

i recommend using the flat alpha technique as @arf820 said, but also make sure that your unused loose leading strings in the back are, well, loose... if you use the background color at the beginning of the row, then switch and use other colors, and then use the background color again at the end, it is important not to make the string going across the back from the beginning to the end of the row really really tight, or else all of the knots in between will get all bunched up, and therefore puffy. you could try cutting the loose strings on the back on ones that you have already made and see if that helps!

Another problem could be that the strings your using are different sizes? Even the smallest bit can make a difference sometimes...
