Cotton is a bit thinner but I find creates better knots and comes in more colours whereas polyester is cheaper and thicker. I use both but I prefer cotton

i personally never used polyester so i dont really have much to say about it, but i definitely think cotton string is good

It doesn't really matter. Just use embroidery floss.

I use cotton but polyester works too it’s just a bit harder ( as in feels harder)

Both? Imo, polyester works too, it just feels different. I mean, I just get what I get.
