a teardrop loop is when you do a V shape (like a chevron) from both ends of the loop and you make the V shape with fb knots on the left and bf knots on the right and then any knot to connect the two halves. for a regular loop you just start segment knotting or knotting row by row right after you’ve done the loop. 🙂

In the loop itself there's no difference. It's just the way you start after the loop. You could say that the start of the bracelet when doing the teardrop loop an upside down triangle end.Other ways to start after a loop are a triangle end or a double triangle end (the double triangle end looks very similar to the teardrop loop). I would recommend to always do some shaped start after loops. It doesn't matter if you start with a teardrop loop, triangle ends or double triangle ends. You can decide that based on what would look best for the pattern. |
