What exactly do you mean by not going the right way? Because when your doing an alpha, you do a full row of forward knots and then a full row of backward knots😊

You probably have the string on the opposite side. This is because you probably just did a full row of forward knots. To “fix” that, do your row of backward knots next.

even so on the next row you do backward knots. or you can use the straight edges technique where you do two bf knots on the leftmost string and you do two fb knots on the rightmost string. that way your string will be facing the way it is supposed to go for the next row🙂

You just start doing the next row and ignore that the string is pointing to the side. After the first half of the knot the string should point in the right direction again. It's completely normal that the string sticks out a tiny bit when switching direction. If you want to avoid that little bit of string sticking out you can use the straight edges technique. I've got a tutorial on it that you can find in the tutorial section. Even if you don't want to do straight edges this could be helpful for you because there's a sketch of how strings in alphas actually move. It's the first picture. |
