The dimensions are actually the number of rows x the number of knots I think

If you're talking about about how thick the bracelet will be then you could always print out the pattern and the picture of the bracelet on the paper will be about the size of the bracelet of course some knots are different sizes but that's the general size of the bracelet

So the dimensions only show up on the alpha patterns and they are the number of columns by the number of rows

the dimensions of a pattern are based off of the knots, not a unit of measurement. the dimensions are based off of how many knots wide the pattern is, and how many rows. for example, a 20 string [normal] pattern would have a dimension of 10 wide because 20 strings would made up 10 knots (since each knot is made between two strings), then the number of rows. for example, a 20 string [normal] pattern with 80 rows would have the dimensions of 10x80. for alpha ptterns, it is the number of base strings by the number of rows, so a pattern with 10 base strings and 80 rows would have the dimensions 10x80. a unit of measure cannot be used because that varies depending on how tightly you tie your knots and could be different for everyone. hope this helps.
