I watch videos of people making friendship bracelets , they say it only Thales them like 4 hours. But I’ve been working on one bracelet for like 10+ hours and I just finished it . It’s only 16 strings and I don’t know why it took me so long ?

The better you get, the faster it will go. It also has to do with understanding the patterns and bracelets too and whether or not you are segment knotting.

If you’re kind of new to bracelets or you haven’t done them in a long time, then it’ll take you a little longer to do them at first. But after some practice, you’ll be faster. Also if you do segment knotting that’ll be a lot faster than row-by-row

Also some people make tighter knots which are then smaller so the bracelet progresses slower. If this applies you could try making your knots slightly looser. Also if your string is thin the knots will be smaller again. Otherwise it sounds like it could just be down to practice. 😊

the speed you tie your knots at can be a huge piece. if you break it up into chunks it will feel like less time

Maybe you took to many breaks. Usually for me it takes at least 30 mins to make a full bracelet (including repeating the pattern)

i’ve been making bracelets for about a year now, and i’ve gotten a lot quicker! i think it just takes practice, i got much faster when i started to segment knot and i found what thickness i like my knots. hope this helps!

It largely depends on the pattern and which knotting technique you use.
- segment knotting is faster than knotting row by row
- some patterns are just easier/faster to segment knot than others
- larger patterns usually take longer than smaller ones
- you'll get faster with practice
- if you use a thicker thread for normal patterns you're done faster

It takes a while when your first learning. I'm sure you'll get faster if you keep practicing 🙂
