i am confused with this technique. after i am done with one row and do the fb or bf knot do I do the knot again to start the new row? sorry if this doesn’t make sense!!

No worries! I think I know what you’re talking about. So if you do a fb knot at the end of a row, you’ll do a bf on the same string to start the next row. If you still have some confusion, @halokiwi has a written tutorial on the straight edges technique 👍🏼

on the left most string you do two bf knots and on the right most string you do two fb knots🙂
