Holo! I'm new here and I got a few questions 🙂

I followed MashaKnots tutorial on Flat Alphas. I've never done one before but they are really fun and easier than I thought. What do I do with the strings on the back? Can I trim them shorter or will it unravel somehow? Also my knots are slanted/angled so they look sort of knitted.

To add a variation, can you just change colors on a pattern, make sure there are no warnings, and then submit it? Do I have to ask the original creator before changing the colors?

Thanks in advance!

For a variation you don't have to ask as it doesn't change the original it just adds another version with different colours. About the alphas my knots go sideways too and I think it's just how you knot. 🙂

You can trim the back strings where you added string in as short as you want once the bracelet is done however I wouldn’t cut into any strings that aren’t an end but are criss crossed if that makes sense! If you need more explanation please feel free to message me or ask here in this forum!

Thanks @Romy4 and @Tango27 ! It is almost done 😛 The back of the alpha looks much nicer now and I finally got a variation accepted 🎉

Just practice. Make your knots a little tighter and tape down your working string securely.
