So say that there’s a pattern with three different butterflies on it, but i only want to make one butterfly. And i want to make it so that when you look at it it is vertical. How can i change/ look at the pattern so that I can make it as a keychain?Haha sorry if that’s hard to understand:/ |

its really simple. basically just cut out the two butterflies you don't want to make. then, make it vertical, just turn it. I personally would do this with the grid pattern, because it would be very confusing following the knot structure sideways. you would just have to knot the pattern like that, just use the number of base strings you need and follow the pattern. I hope this makes sense. if you tell me what pattern this is I may be able to walk you through the process with a little more detail.

okay, so the green dino is 14 strings wide. so you would probably want 16 or 18 base strings, to leave some white on the edges. then start your alpha. above the dino is 3 rows of white, so that is what you would start with. then continue with the dinosaur. idk if this provides anymore help than my last post, but I tried🤷♀️
