1 metre (approx 40 inches) is good enought mor many bracelets however you may adjust it to the pattern you are, the ties you are doing, how much the colour is used and how long you want to make the bracelet

I tend to cut about a wingspan and a half of each string which then gets folded in half. This is a general measurement that works for most patterns and it’s an easy reference for when you’re not exactly sure how long to make it. Hope this helps!

A trick that I learned is if you are folding the strings over to make two strings, the hold the strings from One hand across your body to your other hand! And if you’re cutting an individual string the length you should be from your fingers to the middle of your chest or to your opposite shoulder!!🙂 I hope this makes sense
