Why are there people with a higher rank than me with less photos/patterns?

I have made one pattern and i'm working on a few more, and I have many pictures and variations uploaded, but i'm still in the advanced rank. I saw someone in the rank above me with 3 variations and 5 photos uploaded, and i have way more stuff then that so why is she above me?

It might be that they are more active in the forum as this contributes to your rank.
