I am new to trying bracelet patterns, and I understand the 4 different kinds of knots and how to read a bracelet pattern. However, I get confused when bringing in string that was left out in the previous row, and my bracelets just don’t look right? For some reason I can’t attach a picture here, but is anyone willing to help me or refer me to a tutorial? Thank you!

I’ve made my profile picture what I’m working on since I can’t share a photo in this thread. Why does it look like that? It’s pattern #18

Are you tying the knots upside down? Try watching Masha knots video on it, it’ll really help 👍🏼

I don't really get your question but will try to answer it anyway.

First of all, you took a picture of the back of your bracelet. Second of all, with string B, you don't tie a knot with it and you just bring it in the path of string B. So if string A ties a not to move string B to the side, the you the knot with string A and bring string B to the side. One thing you could try is pulling your knots more evenly.

Hopes this helps! 🙂

Sorry everyone, I accidentally posted a picture of the back of the bracelet. I updated it.

Oh ok you might not be tying some of the knots tight enough and some of them too tight. Try to keep the tension even👍🏼

Yes, you are not tying your knots even enough. And I think for the first few knots you were tying it one side and then you flipped it around a kept going...

You're not doing anything wrong when it comes to following the pattern, but you are not tying your knots evenly. You want to make sure that you are tying the knots with equal tension. Remember that the first half of the knot has to be tight or the whole knot will be wonky.

tie your knots evenly, a good way to practice is to go back to basics, do a bunch of candy stripes and then chevron. once you even those out, return to patterns! patterns are overwhelming and it's hard to get technique and follow patterns at the beginning.
