Hi! I'm knot new to making bracelets but I've seen a lot about segment knotting. Is this necessary or can you just go row by row?

You can go row by row, but segment knotting is a quicker way to make bracelets once you have learned how to do it

When I started doing bracelets I did every single one row by row but then I I started to learn about segment knotting and it’s a lot faster and easier to memorize the pattern

I agree that you should check out segment knotting tutorials, but I also suggest that you watch a few "knot with me"s made by MashaKnots and others! This way you can get the idea of how other people segment knot their bracelets - perhaps even start with one of the patterns in the video so that you can get the feel for it. If you know how to make chevrons you know how to segment knot as I say! If you start segment knotting early, you'll find it easier in the end!! Hope this helps 😊

You can do row by row method if you feel more comfortable doing that! I started out by doing row by row but if you want segment knot for the first time make sure your doing a bracelet that has a triangle or diamond. For example if you made a chevron before you already have done segment knotting with out even thinking! But if your new to segment knotting I recommend watch masha knots video on it!
