I am sort of confused of how to start alphas. Do you need to start with a teardrop loop, a loop, or whatever you want?

I believe you can use any starting that you do with a normal pattern.

you can do whatever. You cannot use a teardrop loop. Instead a of loop when you fold in half and make a loop with your fingersmake a basic loop. Masha knots has a great video called basic loops hope this helps🙂 |

@EliannaC actually you can do a teardrop loop, i’ve done it many times! you just do it like you normally would using only your base strings and then start the pattern once you make the loop straight across!!

triangle ends look very good with alphas. Triangle ends with a loop also look really good for starting an alpha. I know masha knots has videos on how to do both.

@Xeclipse_2 You can start with a teardrop, if you want, but most of the time I just lay the strings out and tape them at the top, make my pattern, and then go back and braid it, or just leave it that way. 🙂

you can do almost any start, if you're making a keychain tie the ring on when starting, otherwise right now I'm making one with triangle ends, I think it is more of a visual preference what you do.
