When I'm not using a color in an alpha I put it under all my base strings, you can tape/clip it off to the side! When i make alphas I normally cut a long piece of string. For the leading string I sometimes leave it on the bobbin, other times I cut a long piece. Hope this helps! 😊

I will usually just only unwrap the bobbin a little bit, and if there are multiple colors I wrap up the one i'm not using and put it under the bracelet towards the top so it doesn't tangle with the other colors/base strings
