How long should strings be?

I know each pattern is different, but generally when you make a normal pattern (not an alpha pattern), how long should I make each string? I am pretty new to the whole bracelet thing so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I typically cut mine about 5 feet, than fold it in half. It's pretty simple to add in string if you need to.

it depends but I normally cut them by 1 meter 🙂 and if it's short I'll knit some to it ..:[

try wrapping it around your wrist 4 to 5 times🙂

I typically hold the end in one hand and the skein in the other and pull it across my arms width and then add a little for safety. For the most part it seems to work pretty good. If I notice that one colour is used more in a pattern I generally cut it a little longer than the rest.
