Hi all, I am making an alpha and one of the base strings snapped (the bracelet is currently my avatar). Please help ASAP. Thanks! |

I also forgot to mention that the string that snapped is the rightmost string (edge).

You can knot in a new base string as you go. I am not very good with this topic actually, but I recommend watching Masha Knots video called Fixing Mistakes. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuHDeuDHDlw |

@lemondrink I think she’s talking about if your leading string snapped in that video.

i would suggest taping your snapped base string and your new base string to the back of your bracelet. then keep knotting as normal. it doesn’t work for me if i do the regular method of replacing strings that masha knots shows when i need to replace a string that i am knotting onto. taping your old base string and the new base string to the back of the bracelet is a bit of a hassle but it ensures that the knot over the new base string is in line with the rest of the bracelet. hope that helps!

Ive never had this happen, so i'm just guessing, but if you still have some of the origonal string sticking out (and if you don't maybe take some rows out so there is some room on the original broken string) and line up the broken one and the new one. Then tie some knots going over both the original string and the new one toghether. Im not sure how this would look because I've never tried, but I don't think it should be too noticeable.

I just use a string that I’m done tying with it saves from having to attach down another string and you can’t really tell but I’ve never done it on the edge
