is it possible to segment knot a 1212 pattern?

Simple answer: not really

In a 1212 pattern the string changes directions very often so you can't as easily knot in diagonals as you could with a pattern where the string doesn't change directions often.

But you can still knot in diagonals instead of rows if that's your thing

For some patterns it's also possible to change the knotting structure to something that can be segment knotted a little easier.

Not really unless u change the knotting structure but for some patterns it’s difficult which is y I stay away from them
