So I’m watching Marsha Knots on YouTube about reading patterns and Segment knitting. But I’m watching and she only did one knot for the forwards or backwards knot. Are you only supposed to do one? In other videos she always did two so that’s where I’m confused.

no when knotting, you are supposed to do two knots. the first knot needs to be tight and as close as possible. the second knot is very important because it secures the first knot. was she maybe demonstrating a forward backward knot or a backward forward knot? for a forward backward knot, you do the first knot as a forward knot, then you secure it with a backward knot, keeping the string in the same position as before. vise versa with a backward forward knot. if not, she must have just made a mistake because all knots are made up of two knots. hope that helped!

I think it might be how the video is cut since when you watch that video essentially you should already know how knots are made. So she might just be hinting at the knots because you're already supposed to know them. All knots consist of two halves. If you do just one the knot won't be secure and the bracelet will curl up a lot. |

Thank you both! That helped a ton. I have no clue it wasn’t the f-b or b-f knot, just a normal forwards knot. Maybe to make the video more fluid🤷🏻♀️. Thanks again🙏🏼

U have to do two knots to make up one knots. Also keep in mind if you want the knots to be tighter, pull the first half tighter not the second because the second half secured it in place and the first half of how tight it’ll be
