ANOTHER PROBLEM: I'm making an alpha and I am using the straight edges technique at the same time. I watched a lot of video's but I don't understand any of them. Can someone please explain it?

The straight edge technique just means that for the beginning(the first knot only) of a row of forward knots, you do a backward forward knot with the leading string. For the end of a row( the last knot only) of forward knots you do a forward backward knot. For the beginning of a row of backward knots, you do a fb knot and for the end of the row you do a bf knot. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

You can make a backward forward knot on the right side and a forward backward knot on the left side and only those knots.
