Hey, so... I can't figure out how long I should make my strings. Sometimes they are too long, or too short, and I don't want to waste thread. So... if anyone has a formula or anything... tell me. 🙂

wingspan, which means extend your arm and measure it like that. for alphas cut them shorter since its easier to add new strings

Normally, you want to base string length on how much a string is used. If you use one string a lot, you make it long. If you use a string once or twice, make it shorter. This all depends on how long you want to make your bracelet, but generally multiplying how long you want your bracelet to be by 10 and then adding on length for the ties, the loop, etc.

I have exact measurements here 😊35-40 inches for a single string 70-80 inches for a loop +15 cm for the string that will make the loop +3-5 inches for triangle ends +4-5 inches for ties +2-5 inches for bracelets with +20 strings. Its okay if you have scraps, you can use those in alphas! |

Okay, that seems kind of like what I use for the wingspan trick. I’ll try these, thanks a lot!

I normally do a wingspans length and then if I do a loop I fold it in half to get 2. For alphas I do the base strings the length u want it to be, then enough for the ties and then a little bit longer

I usually measure my hight (wingspan) and then fold them in half to make 2 strings. When I only need one of a certain color then I’ll do half a wingspan

wingspan, but if I have thicker bracelets like 15 and up I would make the strings longer.
