how to make alphas less lumpy?

hey, i'm sorta new to making alphas and i've made three simple ones. but i can't get them to look like everyone else's?it's hard to tell what pattern it is because the strings are too bumpy and 3d, is there a solution? |

masha knots has a tutorial that is called "flat alphas" and it has made my alphas look so much better

make sure to leave your loose strings in the back loose enough, especially when they go all the way across the back. if you pull it too tight when you use it again it will bunch up all of your other knots
